CUSTOMER RETURNS AND REFUNDS POLICY
 
We want you to be happy with the purchase you have made from us. If you are not completely satisfied, you may return the product to us and we will either refund, credit, repair/replace it, subject to the below terms and conditions. 

INTRODUCTION:
1.1. Light Market / Electro Gadgets is committed to fair trading practices as well as the principles envisaged in the Consumer Protection Act, Act 68 of 2008 (‘CPA’) in all dealings with our consumers.
1.2. Light Market / Electro Gadgets acknowledges that consumers have certain specified rights in terms of the CPA as well as in terms of the common law in their dealings with Light Market / Electro Gadgets, including the rights of consumers to return goods to Light Market / Electro Gadgets in certain specific instances.
1.3. This policy sets out the circumstances in which you can return goods to Light Market / Electro Gadgets – explanation:
The reasons for which you can return goods;
The period within which you need to return the goods, and
What your and our duties and rights are when you wish to return goods.
SEVEN DAY RETURNS POLICY : 
You may return any unwanted goods to Light Market / Electro Gadgets within  7 (seven) days from purchase/ delivery provided that you meet the requirements of this policy.
2.1 Rules applying to the 7 (seven) day Returns Policy:
2.1.1. You can only return the goods within the 7 (seven) day returns period if the goods ares undamaged and unused
2.1.2. The goods must also be in its original, undamaged,  unopened packaging with the original labels and stickers/ seals  still attached;
2.1.3 It is not missing any accessories or parts
2.1.4.You will not be able to return the following goods during the 7 (seven) day returns period:
- Special order goods that Light Market / Electro Gadgets does not usually stock or  procured for you specifically to meet your specific needs
- Customised Goods (these are goods that we changed or  amended for you specifically to meet your specific needs.
- Batteries
- Cut to order products
- Clearance / End of Range items
- Car Led Bulbs
2.2. Certain returns will be subject to a 15% handling fee.
2.3. We reserve the right to refuse a return, if the unwanted product (or its packaging) is returned damaged, not in a re-saleable condition or missing any accessories or parts.
2.4. Please follow the instructions in paragraph 11 to log your return.
 
DEFECTIVE GOODS:
We do our best to ensure that the products we sell  to you are of a high quality and without defects. What is a defect? A defect is a material imperfection in the manufacture of a product or any characteristic of a product, which makes the product less acceptable than one would reasonably be entitled to expect in the circumstances.
3.1. The following will NOT be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a return under this section :
-faults resulting from normal wear and tear;
-damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product
-damage arising from electrical surges, sea air corrosion or water damage;
-damage arising from a failure to adequately care for the product;
-damage arising from unauthorised alterations to the product; and
-where the specifications of a product, although accurately described on the Website and generally fit for its intended purpose, do not suit you.
 
3.2. All our goods carry a manufacturer’s warranty of at least 6 (six) months from date of sale or date of delivery (the later date of the two dates) against defects.
3.3. If the goods show a defect during the first 6 (six) months after you purchased the goods or the goods were delivered to you (the later date of the two dates), we will gladly repair or replace the goods, or if these options are not available we will refund you the price you paid for the goods.
3.4.If the manufacturer’s warranty on the particular goods that you bought extends beyond the 6 (six) month period, we will repair or replace the goods at our election (if the defect occurs after the first 6 (six) months but still within the manufacturer’s warranty period ).
3.5. If the defect in the goods was caused due to your abuse as a consumer, fair wear and tear or your negligence, the warranty will no longer apply and you will not be able to return the goods to us. Accordingly, you need to make sure that you use the goods appropriately.
3.6. You will also not be able to return the goods to us if you did not follow the instructions of use or guidelines in any other printed material that we provided to you in connection with the goods or if you used the goods for a purpose other than what it was intended to be used for.
3.7.  Please follow the instructions in paragraph 11 to log your return.

RETURNS PROCESS FOR DEFECTIVE GOODS:
4.1. If you suspect that there is a defect present in the goods, you must return the goods to us as soon as reasonably possible after you detect the defect.
4.2. You must immediately stop any further use of the goods in order to limit the damages.
4.3. Light Market / Electro Gadgets will then investigate the matter and run the necessary tests on the goods to determine the reason for the defect.
4.4. Light Market / Electro Gadgets will communicate their findings to you within 14 (fourteen) days after they received the goods from you for testing.
4.5.  Please follow the instructions in paragraph 11 to log your return.
 
PROOF OF PURCHASE:
If you wish to return goods to us for any reason, we may require that you provide us with the proof of purchase or your copy of the delivery note in order for us to determine and confirm that you bought the goods from us and when the goods were bought by you.
 
REFUNDS:
6.1.Cash refunds can be made in-store by arrangement..
10.2. You will be refunded subject to the law and in the same way that you initially paid for the goods, either by credit card,  EFT, Cash, Payfast.
6.2. It is your duty to provide the correct banking details to us in writing and we will not be liable to you if we made payment to an incorrect bank account provided by you.

WARRANTIES
7.1.All items are covered by a 6 month warranty (unless otherwise stated) which will be honoured directly by Light Market / Electro Gadgets. All products will either be replaced/repaired/refunded depending on stock availability. Products will require evaluation by Light Market / Electro Gadgets before a warranty claim can be accepted.
7.2. Light Market / Electro Gadgets or its affiliates are not responsible for damage or loss of any kind that may occur as a result of using or misusing any product purchased from us.
7.3. The warranty will no longer be valid, and Light Market / Electro Gadgets will not be responsible for damage or injury of any kind resulting from:
- Electricity fluctuations and surges, lightning strikes, faults in the building wiring, faulty installations, and improper use of controls
- Failure to use the product in accordance with the operating instructions and or general misuse and or abuse
- Damage caused by a superior force (vis maior) or if the product has been infested with insects or pests
- If the product is physically damaged after it left the store
- If water or liquid caused the damage to the product
- If the warranty seal is tampered with - Any repair or tampering by an unauthorised person or attempt to repair or tamper with the equipment, or use of parts not supplied by authorised agents, or alterations or modification to the equipment shall render the warranty null and void.
7.4  Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will at your choice repair / replace the product (if such repair / replacement is possible) or credit your account with the purchase price of the product (or refund you if that is your preference).
7.5. If at any point you request us to repair goods outside of the manufacturer warranty period, we will always provide you with a quote first and obtain your authorization before we start any repairs.
7.6 We may at our discretion request a valid Certificate of Compliance, before processing any warranty claims. 

ONLINE PURCHASES
8.1. We provide a seven day returns policy as explained above in paragraph 2
8.2. WARRANTIES: All items are covered by a 6 month warranty as detailed above in paragraph 9.
8.3. PRODUCTS DAMAGED ON DELIVERY Should a product be damaged or missing any parts or accessories at the time of delivery / collection, please notify us within 7 days of such delivery / collection by logging a return as per paragraph 11. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will at your choice repair / replace the product as soon as possible (if such repair / replacement is possible) or credit your account with the purchase price of the product.
8.4. DEFECTS: All items are covered against defects  as detailed above in paragraph 3

CHARGES
9.1. If you return a defective product to us, but you fail to return all of the accessories and parts that were sold with that product, we reserve the right (subject to applicable law) only to replace the item that you did return, or to estimate the value of the missing accessories and parts and only to credit or refund you in respect of the returned item. If you return a product that does not comply with this Policy, you may be liable to reimburse Electro Gadgets for the cost of collecting the product from you and the cost of having the product returned to you. All return courier costs shall be for your account.
9.2. Should the item being returned for assessment be found to be in good working order, unfortunately the collection and re-shipping fee will apply *from R115 per shipment.
9.3. We do not reimburse your fee to ship to us, but we will pay for return shipping if the item is subject to replacement. If the item you wish to return was ordered incorrectly / is no longer required / you have changed your mind, there is a collection fee of R115 that will be charged and this will be deducted from the refund amount once the supplier has credited us.
9.4. Light Market / Electro Gadgets will only cover return shipping of a faulty unit within 6 months of purchase, after which, a shipping fee (starting at R115) will be applicable to you for return of the unit.
9.5. Refunds are subject to inspection of item(s) - in some cases, items will need to be sent to the supplier for evaluation and testing. This can take up to 15 working days. Once a refund has been approved, this may take 3 - 5 business days to be processed.
9.6. ALL returns may be subject to a 15% restocking fee if the item is no longer in BRAND NEW condition or if the item seal/packaging has been broken.
Please re-package safely and include all original product packaging.  
Light Market / Electro Gadgets reserves the right to refuse a refund if the item is damaged from misuse, items are missing, if the product is altered in any way or if the product packing has been damaged . 
9.7. In terms of the current consumer laws we are allowed to charge you for the use of the goods in certain circumstances and also such amounts to get the goods fit for resale.
9.8. If you wish to return goods to us for any reason set out in this returns policy, or by law, we will inform you what these charges would be after we have had the opportunity to inspect the condition of the goods at the time of return.
VOUCHERS & COUPONS
Where you have used a Coupon to purchase a product that you later return for a refund in accordance with this Policy, we will provide you with a replacement Coupon and will credit your account for that portion of the purchase price which you paid via one of our other payment methods (or refund you if that is your preference). However, wherever you have used a Voucher to purchase a product that you later return for a refund in accordance with this Policy, we cannot refund you in cash for that portion of the purchase price which you paid using the Voucher, but we will credit your account.

RETURNS
11.1. Goods may only be accepted for return provided they comply with the terms and conditions set out above. 
11.2 ONLINE RETURNS:

11.3. IN STORE RETURNS
11.3.1. Goods may only be returned to the store from which they were purchased.
11.3.2. Goods will be inspected and authorisation required from the head office to process your return in store.
11.3.3.  Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will at your choice repair / replace the product (if such repair / replacement is possible) or credit your account with the purchase price of the product (or refund you if that is your preference).
